He is a wonderful partner, but his adult children cause me constant anxiety. In the meantime, my daughter, now 40, moved to Canada with her family five years ago.

I lived with my first husband for only a few years and raised Gosia mostly by myself. After my daughter got married and moved out, loneliness forced me to accept Igor's proposal, who has been a widower for many years, has two daughters and a son, all with their own families. We live in my husband's country house, we take care of the garden and the farm.

Life was quiet until his children started visiting us often. They come expecting exquisite meals, but leave with bags full of our produce. Even during busy times, such as harvesting, they never offer to help. Instead, they come in the evening, take their share without lifting a finger, and leave happy. It becomes obvious that they may not appreciate my contribution to their father's life.

If something happens to Igor, I fear that they will not take into account everything I have done and may evict me from his home. Now Gosia is trying to convince me to come to Canada. She argues that while I take care of other people's grandchildren, she spends a lot of money supporting her children in Canada. Should I stay, considering the decade I spent with Igor, or should I prioritize myself and my daughter by moving to Canada?
