Real-life. “He Decided to Break Up with His Wife Over the Phone After They Paid Off Their Joint Mortgage”: Things Didn't Go According to His Plan

– Listen and don't interrupt, Maria! – Marek said firmly as soon as he heard his wife's voice on the phone.

– I want you to know! Nineteen years ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life. The biggest, Maria. The mistake was marrying you. Yes, Maria, it's true. I also want you to know that in all those years that we were together, I didn't love you.

– Marek, I… – Maria tried to answer, but she couldn't.

– I asked you not to interrupt! – he shouted.

– For once in your life, you can stop interrupting me and just let me finish?

– I can, but… – So be quiet, Maria. And when your time comes, you will speak. And I will listen to you. And I promise not to interrupt. And now I want you to know, Maria, that I suffered. I suffered all these years. All nineteen years. I married you only because you were expecting a child.

– Marek, you shouldn't have…

– Don't interrupt, Maria! I beg you nicely! I know what you want to say. I know everything you can say now. Of course, you can say now that I convinced you to become my wife. And you would be right, because I did convince you. And I convinced you for a long time. For almost two months. But I want you to ask yourself one very simple question, Maria. Only one thing. Why did I convince you? You don't know? I'll tell you!

– Marek…

– Let me finish, Maria! When I finish speaking, you can say whatever you think is appropriate. But now I'm speaking. I hope you understand and don't feel offended! So… what was I talking about? I forgot.

– Shortly after we got married and our daughter was born, we took out a mortgage on an apartment. And then I told myself that I wouldn't leave you until our daughter came of age and we paid off the mortgage in full… A month ago, our daughter turned eighteen. And a week ago, we made the last payment on our apartment. And now I'm free, Marina. I kept my word and I'm leaving you. We're getting a divorce. Now you know the truth.

– Marek, I know that… – A few more words, Maria. Be patient. It won't be long. A year ago, when I realized that I didn't have to suffer for long, I started dating other women. And I don't ask you to forgive me for that, Marina, and I don't consider myself guilty. Because as a man I needed it! And since I knew that in a year we would get divorced anyway, I decided not to deny myself this pleasure. But I understand what you feel now, Maria. Resentment, anger, jealousy, despair, bewilderment, etc. You feel that your life is ruined and that nothing good will come of it. I understand everything. I'm not an indifferent animal. You will meet someone with whom you will be happy.

When Marysia's husband finished his cruel tirade, suddenly the situation turned. Marysia informed her husband that she had known about everything from the very beginning. She knew to expect such a call, and his things were already packed and sent to his mother.

It turned out that Marysia also did not love Marek and intended to divorce him as soon as they had resolved all mutual obligations. She discussed everything with her mother-in-law, who knew about her son's cruel plan. Maria managed to get rid of her husband's things, change the locks on the doors, and announced that she could afford to buy his part of the apartment, so she would do it because she had decided to, and now he could beg for his return, which Marysia would no longer allow.

She told Mark that when he started chasing skirts, she didn't do it either and got pregnant with someone, so if she doesn't want to acknowledge the child as her own, she has to disappear from her life immediately. Mark tried to convince his wife to change her mind, but the decision had already been made and there was no turning back.

Don't miss: From life. “I understood everything from your behavior, you don't have to explain that you won't be there”: Said the offended mother
