Propagandists and more. The media learned the details of the 16th package of sanctions against Russia

The new package of sanctions of the European Union (EU) against the Russian Federation (RF) will include 35 individuals and 19 legal entities.

This is reported by RBK-Ukraine with reference to Polskie Radio.

It is noted that the package of sanctions will not contain a ban on the import of liquefied natural gas gas (LNG) from the Russian Federation (RF). At the same time, there is a ban on the import of
aluminum, an even larger number of vessels from the “shadow fleet” and other restrictions on exports.

“The blacklist is secret until unanimously approved by the member states. The idea is that those against whom sanctions will be applied will not be warned in advance. Being included in the blacklist means a ban on entry to the EU, asset freezes and accounts in European banks,” Polske Radio adds. The sanctions list will mainly include Russians, as well as citizens of North Korea and China who are helping the enemy wage war against Ukraine. In particular, those who will be subject to restrictions will be:

  • members of the management of companies in the industrial and defense complex (IDC);
  • entrepreneurs working in the energy sector;
  • representatives of puppet authorities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

“Among them are also propagandists and disinformers. The list of sanctioned companies includes mainly weapons factories, as well as institutions and organizations that support the Russian attack on Ukraine,” Polske writes Radio.

Sanctions against Russia

After the start of the full-scale invasion, Western countries began imposing economic sanctions against Russia. These restrictions cover a variety of areas: from financial transactions and trade relations to energy supplies and technology. One of the key steps was the exclusion of some Russian banks from the international payment system SWIFT, which complicated Russia's international financial transactions.
