Pro-Russian ex-host Max Nazarov suspected of anti-Ukrainian activities

The Security Service of Ukraine came to search the former host of banned TV channels Max Nazarov (Nazar Diorditsa). He was informed of the suspicion.

This was reported by the SBU press service.

Law enforcement officers are not disclosing the name of the person involved, but earlier a number of media outlets, including Suspilne, citing sources, reported that it was Nazarov. Expert tests confirmed that he was engaged in anti-Ukrainian activities, working on the sanctioned TV channels NASH and NewsOne, which belonged to Viktor Medvedchuk and Yevhen Murayev.

After these channels were blocked and a full-scale war began, Nazarov created his own YouTube channel, where he continued to spread Russian narratives, the SBU said. Pro-Russian pseudo-experts, some of whom are hiding in Russia, participated in his broadcasts.

Investigators report that the blogger and his guests tried to justify Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and war crimes, including attacks on civilian infrastructure. Because of this, he was suspected of justifying Russia's aggression against Ukraine and glorifying its participants. Among his guests was another pro-Russian blogger, who in February 2024 had already received suspicion from the SBU and was placed under house arrest.

This is probably Dmytro Korniychuk – last February he was indeed placed under house arrest on suspicion of justifying Russian aggression. Despite this, he continued his activities in the interests of Russia.

Investigators will apply to the court with a request to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for both suspects. They face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
