NATO countries need to strengthen intelligence cooperation in the Baltic Sea, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said on Wednesday.

“The exchange of intelligence is important in the context of the initiative proposed by Donald Tusk on Baltic Sea navy policing, i.e. a system of patrolling the Baltic Sea in the face of aggressive actions by Russian ships,” — Sikorski said during a meeting of ministers at NATO headquarters in Brussels, his words were quoted by the PAP agency.
Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced his intention to appeal to the leadership of the Baltic and Scandinavian countries with a call to organize joint patrols to guarantee security in the Baltic Sea.
“I will convince partners of the need to immediately create an analogue of the Baltic Air Patrol mission – a “sea patrol”, a joint venture of countries bordering the Baltic Sea and sharing a sense of danger in connection with Russia,” he said.
