Pokémon Legends Z-A: This patent would confirm the return of a beloved feature

At the end of February, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Legends Z-A, the next installment in the Pokémon franchise. Since then, nothing, or almost nothing. Nintendo has remained silent on the subject, the manufacturer possibly waiting for the announcement of its next console to reveal more. The most curious must therefore dig to find out more about this Pokémon Legends Z-A, and it seems that a patent filed this year teases the return of a feature very appreciated.

the return of a beloved feature?

In an attempt to anticipate the future of video games, curious and knowledgeable players track down patent applications. Technologies whose use is secured by companies or individuals, with the possibility that they will be exploited later. And in this game, the giants of video games file a whole host of patents each year, each more varied than the last. From the monetization of their games to controller technologies, there is something for everyone.

But by looking at Nintendo's activities, here is a patent that tells us that a very popular feature of the latest installments could be back in Pokémon Legends Z-A.In this title scheduled for 2025, players will head to Illumis, a city located in the center of the Kalos region of Pokémon X and Y. But surprise, an urban redevelopment plan is underway to make this city a place belonging to both humans and Pokémon.

Pokémon in the middle of the city, an idea already presented in the Scarlet and Purple versionsof Pokémon that has already proven itself. But this part of the game is not the only one to come from previous versions if we are to believe a recent patent. Indeed, this patent filed by The Pokémon Company focuses on improving the fluidity of the animation when boarding and disembarking Pokémon.More specifically, it seems to give the idea that player characters can automatically disembark from aerial Pokémon when they reach the ground and then switch to a movement of movement on foot.

Even if the 8th generation of Pokémon chose not to surround itself with Pokémon mounts, the latter returned in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, with Pokémon mounts like Cerbyllin, Ursaking or Hisui's Gueriaigle, then in Pokémon Ecarlate et Violet with Miraidon and Koraidon.

Seeing the feature return in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is therefore not a surprise in itself. This patent explains that “when the character is aboard the boarding target object on the ground or the boarding target object in the water causes the character to perform a jump action based on a second operation input; and if the first operation input is provided during the jump action, causing the character to board board of the target object of boarding in the air and bring the character into a state in which it can move in the air.

But yes it's clear.” children of the Internet will probably write, for a situation that can be slightly specified. We understand that the player can jump from one Pokémon Mount to another using a button and synchronization, with a system that is being streamlined to make the transition from one Pokémon to another a little more complicated, and perhaps more fun as a result. Towards a faster transition between a potential transition between two Pokémon Mounts? Possible.

In any case, we will have to be patient before obtaining new official information on this Legends Pokémon: Z-A. Unless The Pokémon Company shares some snippets with us during an upcoming Pokémon Direct? Unfortunately, The Pokémon Company isn't known for its Pokémon-focused fall presentations. We'll probably have to wait until February 2025.
