PlayStation veteran shares 'theory' why nothing is happening with Bloodborne

Bloodborne fans have been waiting for years for a sequel, remake, or at least an update to the game, but for some reason nothing is happening with the IP. Former PlayStation top manager Shuhei Eshida shared his thoughts on why Sony is doing nothing with one of the main and most beloved PlayStation exclusives.

Let's emphasize that this is not insider information, but the theory of a person who has worked at the company for over 30 years.

So, according to Eshida, Bloodborne is gathering dust on the far shelf waiting for its creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. The head of From Software would like to personally take on the re-release of the game, but he simply does not have the time. At the same time, he doesn't want [Bloodborne] to be touched by others, and Sony respects his wishes.

Miyazaki himself has made it clear that he would like to port Bloodborne to PC, but the decision, he says, is “exclusively Sony's.” Insider and journalist Jeff Grubb suggested that Sony and From Software simply couldn't agree on money.

Perhaps the situation will change thanks to an agreement between Sony and the Japanese media holding Kadokawa, which, among other things, owns the developers. Bloodborne. Early rumors spoke of a full takeover, but so far the parties have limited themselves to a strategic business alliance.
