Platform 2: Twitter users divided over the sequel to the Netflix film

Last month, we introduced you to this new thriller that was a real hit on Netflix. And more recently, another film in this genre, but this time much darker and more violent, bordering on horror, has been talked about on social media, having strongly divided Internet users on the subject.

(H2) The Platform 2 on Netflix: a new divisive part

Among the new releases this October on Netflix, subscribers were recently able to discover The Platform 2. Released on October 4 on the platform, this new Spanish film takes place in the same universe as the first part released in 2020, bringing us back once again to this dystopian world featuring a sort of vertical prison-tower and its power supply system which tends to promote inequalities.

The Platform 2 is a prequel to the 2020 film, in which we can get a glimpse of how this gloomy place works before the arrival of Goreng, the protagonist of the first film. We follow the journey of Perempuan (played by Milena Smit), a young woman tormented by her past who will rebel against the order established by a mysterious leader.

And while the first film directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia had met with enormous success, even earning a place in the top 5 non-English-language films in the catalog, the second part clearly did not have the same reception.

Indeed, many were clearly not won over by The Platform 2 on X (formerly Twitter), criticizing in particular a lack of clarity in the plot, which does not make it easy to understand the film. It should be noted, however, that some people still enjoyed this feature film, especially the fact that we learn more about the history of this place.

I just watched platform 2 on Netflix, I didn't understand much of the first one, but it's the same thing, after that I like the concept too much, just for me they should have made a series to have more details on certain points
