Pirates of the Caribbean: Johnny Depp has decided to return as Jack Sparrow

A few months ago, the producer of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise announced that he intended to start the saga from scratch and had in mind, and especially the hope, of bringing back his star Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow for Pirates of the Caribbean 6. In the meantime, the 61-year-old actor has once again taken on recently the costume of the famous pirate and this, for a good cause.

After the highly publicized trial that pitted him against his ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp had stated through his lawyer that he had no intention of ever making a comeback as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The actor had said he would turn down the offer “even for $300 million and a million alpacas.” Since then, according to the American press, Depp has changed his position. However, it remains to be seen whether Disney will be willing to rehire the American actor. For his part, Jerry Buckheimer had given an interview to Entertainment Tonight in which the producer of the franchise had not hidden his desire to see Johnny Depp return as Jack Sparrow:

I love Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. If it were up to me, of course he would come back. He's a great actor and a good friend. We talked and obviously we discussed this, so we'll see what happens…

While we wait to find out what the future holds for Johnny Depp in this saga and for the actor's fans, the latter has nevertheless decided to put on his famous pirate costume for a good cause.

While he was in Spain for the San Sebastián Festival, Johnny Depp surprised everyone by wandering the corridors of the Donostia University Hospital to the delight of the children hospitalized in the pediatric and oncology departments.
