Microsoft has released instructions for installing Windows 11 on incompatible devices, although only a week ago it stated that this was impossible. The instructions appeared’on the official support website.
A week ago, Microsoft announced that not all computers with Windows 10 will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 using standard means, which require a TPM 2.0 module. Now the company has provided instructions for installing Windows 11 on devices that do not meet these requirements. At the same time, Microsoft emphasizes that installing the new OS on devices that do not meet the minimum system requirements is not recommended.
This warning emphasizes possible failures in the operation of the operating system on incompatible computers, as well as the lack of important security updates necessary to protect against hacker attacks. Users who want to install Windows 11 on outdated PCs without TMP 2.0 are also warned that their computer will no longer be supported and they will not be eligible for updates.
Thus, the company allows the installation of the OS on computers without a TMP 2.0 chip if the user is willing to take responsibility for possible compatibility issues and lack of updates.
