Oppo Find N5 will be the world's first foldable waterproof smartphone

Oppo is set to launch its new foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N5, next month.

The device promises significant design improvements over the Find N3, which was released in 2023. Find product manager Zhou Yibao hinted at the device's industry-leading durability and ultra-thin design.

The Oppo Find N5 is reported to meet IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 waterproof ratings. This level of water resistance is unique in the foldable phone segment. It provides protection against splashes, submersion, and strong water jets. The device can even be used for underwater photography.

Oppo Find N5 will be equipped with a 3D titanium hinge, which will make the smartphone lighter and stronger than traditional folding devices.

Oppo Find N5 is called the thinnest folding phone in the industry. When folded, its thickness will be less than 9.2 mm, and when unfolded — only 4 mm. Next to the USB-C port, the smartphone does not have a speaker, as it is located at the bottom of the device, on the other half. The novelty weighs less than 230 g.

Oppo Find N5 will be equipped with a 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, Android 15 OS, a foldable OLED screen with a 2K resolution, a triple camera with 50 MP and 50 MP sensors, a 5700 mAh battery with support for magnetic wireless charging.
