One Piece: the anime will offer a reworked version of this cult arc

While fans have just learned that the One Piece anime is going to take a long break, they can take comfort in another piece of news: that they will be able to (re)discover one of the most cult arcs of the anime in a new light. We tell you everything.

This Sunday, October 13, 2024, One Piece has clearly hit the headlines in the world of Japanese animation. Fans were able to witness the tragic end of the fight between the Giant Captains of the famous Marshall D. Teach (aka Blackbeard) and Monkey D. Garp in episode 1122 of the anime, with the vice-admiral of the Navy sacrificing himself to save Kobby and the others present on Ruche (or the island of pirates, also known as Hachinosu in the original version).

But the main news of the day is of course the announcement of the anime's hiatus. Indeed, fans learned that the anime One Piecewas going to take a long hiatus, and that the Egghead arc would not resume until April 2025. Sad news for those who were hoping to see the continuation of the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates on the futuristic island of Dr. Vegapunk.

However, the hiatus of the One Piece anime does not mean that there will be nothing more.
