This Sunday, October 13, 2024, One Piece has clearly hit the headlines in the world of Japanese animation. Fans were able to witness the tragic end of the fight between the Giant Captains of the famous Marshall D. Teach (aka Blackbeard) and Monkey D. Garp in episode 1122 of the anime, with the vice-admiral of the Navy sacrificing himself to save Kobby and the others present on Ruche (or the island of pirates, also known as Hachinosu in the original version).

But the main news of the day is of course the announcement of the anime's hiatus. Indeed, fans learned that the anime One Piecewas going to take a long hiatus, and that the Egghead arc would not resume until April 2025. Sad news for those who were hoping to see the continuation of the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates on the futuristic island of Dr. Vegapunk.

Because after next week's special episode airing on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the launch of the anime, fans will be able to (re)discover one of the most iconic arcs in Eiichiro Oda's work, know the arc ÎIsles of the Fish-Men.おろし&

Starting October 27, 2024, the One Piece anime will offer a reworked version of the Fish-Man Islands Saga, which is none other than the first saga of the second half of the anime and manga, which takes place after the ellipse.

And instead of the original 57 episodes, this new version will be condensed into 21 episodes, brought up to date with modern animations. You can now get a preview of the project thanks to this video of the ending “Sailing” performed by by be:FIRST.
