One Piece season 2: the first image of Tony Tony Chopper revealed by Netflix

For several weeks now, Netflix has been slowly but surely revealing new information about its upcoming series. But it was for the last day of its “Geeked Week 2024” that the world's most popular streaming platform played the big game. The announcements multiplied, including a first visual for Tony Tony Chopper, a key character in season 2 of the live-action adaptation of One Piece.

The fans of One Piece were just waiting for this, Netflix did it. He will still have to wait until the last day of Netflix's Geeked Week 2024 to get the long-awaited first glimpse of Tony Tony Chopper, a cult character from the universe of One Piece. Eiichiro Oda imagined the design last October, while Netflix has just revealed the first images. Unfortunately for the most curious, only its antennas are visible.

Holder of the Hito Hito no Mi, a Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows its user to transform into a human hybrid, or even a full-fledged human. Doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates, Tony Tony Chopper is one of the most popular characters in One Piece. But due to his condition, questions persisted among fans, skeptical about his live-action adaptation. CGI? Motion capture? Actor in a Chopper costume?

In the teaser, it is Inaki Godoy, the actor who plays Luffy in the series, who presents Chopper, but part of his face is masked. The reindeer was invited to participate in the reading of season 2 of One Piece, but he is unfortunately a little too small to clear the table in front of him. A Chopper presented here in computer-generated images, which could still differ from the final design. And for good reason, Chopper has several forms.

It remains to be seen how Netflix will manage to juggle all that. For the moment, we do not know who will play Chopper in this Netflix One Piece series, nor if motion capture will be used to bring the doctor to life.
