Crocodile and Luffy are more alike than you think

In the sequel to the One Piece seriesin Netflix's live-action series, the Straw Hats and their crew will face the Baroque Works and its leader, the terrible Crocodile. Adapted from the second Arc of Eiichiro Oda's manga, in which Luffy crosses paths with Princess Vivi and decides to help her, this season 2 will see Joe Manganiello slip into the shoes of the former privateer captain. A merciless fight awaits the two characters, between whom the actor has established a rather unexpected parallel. Indeed, according to the actor, the manga hero and his adversary are more similar than one might think at first glance. The second would be a futuristic version of the first that went wrong, as he confided in this video from the Still Watching Netflix channel.

One Piece season 2: Joe Manganiello reveals the similarity between Crocodile and Luffy

I have all these different versions of Crocodileto look at while I'm studying this character. But I mean, for me, it has to be real. And especially when you're playing a character that people want to call a 'bad guy,' you have to consider that he just has different intentions. And a different path than some of the other characters. But what I found is that he's the potential dark side of Luffy. He represents Luffy's potential dark future, if he gets affected or lets the trauma of defeat infect him like it did Crocodile. I think there's a part of Crocodile that we can all relate to, when he's suffering like he did after Whitebeard, or with the disappointment of not becoming the Pirate King and making peace with that. And of course, not trusting his friends.
