One Piece: Bad news for anime fans

A few hours ago, we shared with you the reactions of One Piece fans following the release of episode 1122 of the anime. And while many of them are more than impatient to discover the continuation of the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates on Egghead Island, this recent announcement revealed that the public will have to wait a long time before finding Monkey D. Luffy and his pirates.

 

One Piece Anime Announces Big Break

It was with episode 1089, released on January 7, 2024, that the Egghead arc began in the One Piece anime, which marks a decisive step in the plot of the work of the famous Eiichiro Oda since it is the first arc of the Final Saga. The protagonists then landed on the futuristic island of the famous Dr. Vegapunk, thus beginning a journey in the land of science that will be filled with fights each more epic than the last, but also revelations that will shake up the story.

And while this week's episode 1122showed the tragic outcome of the battle between Navy Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp and Blackbeard's Giant Captains on Hive (also known as Pirate Island, or Hachinosu in the original), many hoped that the anime's sequel would return to the events taking place on Egghead Island.

Unfortunately, fans learned that the One Piece anime would be taking a long hiatus, and that the Egghead arc would not resume until April 2025.

He's not here to help you! There will therefore be no One Piece episode 1123 next week. Instead, fans will be treated to a special episode titled “One Piece Fan Letter”, proposed on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the launch of the anime. An episode of which we can already have a first video preview:
