"Golden Owl" from the quest/Musée de la Chouette d'Or
The “Golden Owl” statuette, worth 150,000 euros, was found after 31 years of searching. It was hidden by French writer Régi Auset and artist Michel Becker during one of the longest quests.
Treasure hunt Sur la trace de la chouette d'or was launched in 1993 by Auset and Becker. Thousands of people participated in the quest, the search continued throughout France. This is reported by Euronews.
The main prize – the “Golden Owl” – was hidden in an unknown place in France. The owl weighs 10 kilograms, it is encrusted with diamonds. The search for the treasure became, probably, the longest in the history of quests, because it lasted 31 years, 5 months and 9 days.
