One of the creators of “The Witcher 3” named the most difficult quest in the game

One of the main employees of CD Projekt RED, Pavlo Sasko, who is now the lead quest developer for Cyberpunk 2077, told which quest in “The Witcher 3” was the most difficult, writes GamesRadar+.

According to Sasko, because of this quest he “lost his mind and sleep”. It is worth noting that at the time of the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Sasko held the position of lead quest designer in the game.

It's about the Battle of Kaer Morhen, which is part of the main story of The Witcher 3 and one of the final moments of the game. Apparently, this quest gave Sasko a lot of headaches.

“The most difficult quest I've ever designed and implemented. Especially the technical part kicked my ass, so many individual decisions and branches. I lost my head and sleep trying to put it all together. Glad you liked it,” Sasko wrote on Twitter.

It should be noted that according to the plot, Kaer Morhen is located far to the north of the Blue Mountains — formally, on the territory of Kaedwen, but few people know about its existence, and the location and the way to the fortress are known only to the chosen ones.

The road to the castle runs between the high cliffs of the mountain range. Having found a barely noticeable gap, the traveler finds himself in a tunnel that expands over time, and at the exit of his gaze opens a view of a rocky valley surrounded by mountains and a fortress hidden in it. Near the castle, Gwenllech, the River of the White Stones, begins its flow, which must be crossed to reach the fortress. The valley of Kaer Morhen is stretched from the south, from where a path leads through the forest to the castle — to the north, where a large lake is located.

In the third part of the game, in the western part of the Valley, Geralt can discover a cave in which mutations were carried out before the castle was built. This touch in history shows that Kaer Morhen itself was built specifically for the needs of witchers, most likely with the help of the magical art of wizards.
