Not just for music. How to charge your phone with a portable speaker

In a world where smartphones have become an integral part of life, the issue of recharging the device often becomes critical. However, not everyone knows that modern portable speakers can become a life-saving source of energy for your phone.

“Telegraph” will tell you about the features of this method of recharging. First of all, it is worth noting that not every speaker is able to charge the phone.

To do this, it must have a PowerBank function and a corresponding USB port for outputting energy. Typically, speakers in the middle and high price segment have such capabilities.

How it works in practice? The process is quite simple:

  • Make sure that the speaker has sufficient battery power;
  • Find a USB port marked OUT or a special charging symbol on the speaker body;
  • Connect your phone to the speaker using a USB cable;
  • On some speaker models, you need to press a special button to activate charging mode.

Digital technology experts note that this charging method has its own characteristics. The speaker will charge the phone more slowly than a regular charger. This is due to the fact that the output power of the USB port in speakers is usually lower,” explains Oleksandr Petrenko, a mobile technology specialist.

It is important to consider that using a speaker to charge your phone will significantly reduce its battery life. If you plan to use the speaker for playing music for a long time, it is better to leave the PowerBank function as a backup option for emergencies.

When playing music and charging your phone at the same time, the speaker's battery will drain twice as fast. Therefore, it is recommended to either listen to music or charge your phone.

Manufacturers of portable speakers are increasingly adding this feature to their devices, understanding its practicality for users. This feature is especially useful during trips, picnics, or other situations when access to the power grid is not available. limited.

However, experts advise against relying on the speaker as your main charger. It is more of an emergency option that can save you in a critical situation when there is no regular charger at hand.
