Not everyone will be able to upgrade to the Windows 11 operating system: what condition did the developer set?

Windows Corporation has announced that it will soon end support for Windows 10. When this happens, users who still have this version of the operating system installed on their computers will be forced to upgrade to Windows 11. However, there is one catch & ndash; it will be possible to install Windows 11 only on devices with motherboards equipped with the TPM 2.0 module. So owners of old PCs will find themselves in a very awkward position.

What should computer owners do without the required module?

The company claims that the TPM 2.0 module – guarantee of security of user data of the operating system. That's why Windows has no intention of backing down from its claim. However, owners of computers that do not support this function will have a hard time due to such steadfastness of the developer. In fact, they will have only two options: buy a new computer or use Windows 10 without support.

Will it be possible to install Windows 11 bypassing the rules?

Some IT professionals claim that it will be possible to install Windows 11 without the required TPM 2.0 chip. But this option has its drawbacks. Windows Corporation warned that users who circumvent the rules will not be able to fully use the latest version of the OS. As for those who continue to «use» Windows 10, they will not have access to security updates. And this means that such users will become a target for scammers and cybercriminals, risking their private information.

How will Windows benefit from the security module requirement?

Many users believe that Windows Corporation will receive additional revenue thanks to its new rule. After all, owners of computers without a TPM 2.0 security module will rush to stores to buy new devices. So the company will make a lot of money on the sale of computers with pre-installed Windows 11.

However, there is another option, such as purchasing a motherboard with a separate slot for TMP 2.0. Although with the installation of such a «motherboard» users will have to, as they say, «mess». In addition, experts do not yet fully understand how exactly the developer will check the computer's compliance with its requirements when installing Windows 11.

Most likely, the company relies on the consciousness of users and their fear of cyber threats. After all, the presence of the TMP 2.0 module is, first of all, a guarantee of the security of your own data when working with the operating system.
