New Ukrainian development – the Termit robot: how it saves the lives of our soldiers

A ground robotic system called “Termit” has been developed in Ukraine. It has become a very important contribution to the work of our Defense Forces, as it greatly facilitates the performance of combat missions.

The robot “Termit” is capable of overcoming difficult terrain and providing tactical advantage. Co-founder and director of the company producing ground robotic complexes Tencore Maksym Vasylchenko told Channel 24 that this tool is used in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a logistics platform, because it allows us to save the lives of our soldiers.

How the Termit robot works

Maxym Vasylchenko noted that the Defense Forces, using remote control of the robot, manage to deliver various provisions to positions, including water, food, and more.

Before that, the military carried everything in their hands, but some still do. The Termite robot allows us to save the strength of our defenders and do everything from safe areas, – he said.

The range of tasks of this technique has recently expanded, we are talking about engineering solutions, in particular modules for dropping mines. According to the director of the manufacturing company, the Termit robot recently began to be tested together with combat turrets, that is, installations for mounting machine guns and grenade launchers.

Mine barriers

Vasylchenko noted that from the beginning of creation to the present, the improvement of ground robotic systems “Termit” continues.

Defense forces use this technique to mine the area. Previously, the robot could transport from two to six mines.

We have made such modules that can be installed on “Thermite” and lead 20 mines at the same time to make more serious barricades,
– emphasized the director.

He added that trials in combat conditions are currently underway, and thanks to feedback, it is possible to improve the robot's functions.

It is interesting that the Defense Forces of Ukraine for the first time conducted an operation using only robotic systems and FPV drones, demonstrating progress in technological development. According to Sergeant Volodymyr Degtyarev from the “Charter” brigade, the operation was successful and included the use of ground drones with machine guns for attacks and drones for demining.
