More than 15 Russian police officers killed in Dagestan

More than 15 Russian police officers fell victim to militants who carried out a series of attacks in Makhachkala and Derbent on June 23.

According to the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, the active phase of operational combat operations in Makhachkala and Derbent has been completed.

Six militants have been eliminated, TASS reports.

Melikov assured that the situation in Dagestan is under control of the authorities and security forces.

He also stated that in Dagestan "will continue to discover dormant hotbeds of militants who were trained from abroad".
