Marvel: The Russo Brothers Reveal the Identity of Noobmaster69 in Endgame

It's been 5 years since Avengers: Endgame hit theaters. This MCU installment delighted Marvel fans by bringing together characters from all four corners of the House of Ideas' cinematic universe. For years, the public has been wondering who is hiding behind the pseudonym Noobmaster69 during Thor's Fortnite game. If we thought we knew who it was, the Russo brothers have revealed a completely different identity.

The mystery surrounding Noobmaster69 persists

Rumors have been circulating for years about this famous mystery that exists in Avengers: Endgame. Indeed, you certainly remember this sequence in which Rocket and Hulk decide to go to New Asgard to bring Thor out of retirement. The latter has fallen to his lowest point and spends most of his time drinking and playing Fortnitewith Korg and Miek. Moreover, during a game, Thor attacks the players who are at the other end of the video game and does not hesitate to threaten one of them who is hiding behind the pseudonym of Noobmaster69.

Many fans have wondered who could be hiding behind this pseudonym, several years after the film's release. The identity of Noobmaster69 has been the subject of much discussion and there are countless rumors circulating on this subject. Some thought it was Deadpool while others imagined it was Loki. But in 2021, it was an Xbox promo for the Marvel series Falcon and The Winter Soldier broadcast on Disney+ that ended the debate: the spot showed Anthony Mackie, the actor who plays Falcon, in an Xbox store with Aaron, the former Apple Store employee in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. At the end of the sequence, the latter reveals that he is none other than the famous NoobMaster69.

Noobmaster69 in Endgame is not who we thought

However, as reported by the site Collider, on Reddit, A message posted by the Russo brothers on X (formerly Twitter) gives us a completely different identity for this mysterious player. The filmmakers reveal that it would actually be Wong, played by Benedict Wong in Infinity War, Endgame, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Wong being Noobmaster69 would make sense because the character has always shown a certain interest in pop culture. He makes no secret of his love for Beyoncé or The Sopranos. Funny thing is that at that time, Wong became the new sorcerer supreme after Strange disappeared following Thanos' Snap. Despite that, Wong still found time to play Fortnite and take on Thor!

And you, do you think it's really Wong behind the pseudonym Noobmaster69? Tell us in the comments.
