Marvel: Although appreciated and with a perfect score, Disney cancels this series

It's the harsh law of the audience for series. They are offered and many are not to go to second season. This is the case with this Marvel series rather well appreciated by the fans which was cancelled by Disney and will not have a new season.

Marvel series struggle to find their audiences

Marvel's arrival in the small screen universe has not exactly been a resounding success. Many projects have ended after the first and only season. This was notably the case for She-Hulk, Secret Invasion and most recently Echo, series that were simply abandoned by Disney and Marvel. But what is reassuring is that the live-action series from the House of Ideas seem to be getting back on track, if we take the example of the latest, Agatha All Along.carried by Kathryn Hahn. But for Disney, this is not enough of a guarantee and the studio with the big ears has canceled another series. Or rather, would have canceled because, for the moment, the information comes to us from different sites specialized in Disney news and no major American sites have confirmed it.

Thus, Disney would have decided not to extend the animated series Moon Girl and Devil the Dinosaur. As reported by the site GamingBible, via an insider who revealed the information on X, Steve Loter's series will not return for a third season.

Earlier this year, its creator had stated that the writers were already working on season 3 of the animated series. In addition, Moon Girl and Devil the Dinosaur is enjoying some success on the site RottenTomatoes because it records 100% positive ratings from professionals and 90% from viewers.

The program has everything you need with a soundtrack by Raphael Saadiq who is a renowned soul artist across the Atlantic without forgetting his animation style. The visual aspect of Moon Girl and Devil the Dinosaur had managed to stand out from other Disney series with its animation that is reminiscent of the era of The Powerpuff Girls or Dexter's Laboratory, the great era of Cartoon Network.

Despite all these positive points, the series did not meet the audience sufficient for Disney because on Disney Channel, the episodes gathered an average of 150,000 curious viewers, sometimes going slightly above 200,000 viewers. The series was able to benefit from a few additional fans with its arrival on Disney+. It would therefore seem that the Mickey Mouse company felt that the numbers were not high enough to continue its production. Note that season 2 of Moon Girl and Devil the Dinosaur is not yet available on Disney+ here in France.
