Marvel: 2 years later, Elisabeth Olsen has not digested this MCU error

Elisabeth Olsen has spoken out again about her possible return to the MCU. But she also took the opportunity to settle some scores and come back to the treatment of her character.

Elisabeth Olsen back in the MCU?

Will she come back, won't she come back? Elisabeth Olsen's return to the MCU is still as undecided. While the first two episodes of Agatha All Alongare coming out soon on Disney+, the question of the return of Wanda Maximoff/Scarelt Witch legitimately arises. As a reminder, Agatha All Along is a spin-off of the series WandaVision (2021), in which the enemy of the Scarlet Witch played the leading roles.

Faced with the question, Elisabeth Olsen has not closed the door to a return to the Marvel universe. However, the 35-year-old actress says she is ready to put the costume back on only on the basis of a solid script:  “It’s a role that I would love to reprise if there’s a good way to bring her back, and I was lucky that at my debut in this role, it is used well (…) if there is a good way to use it, I will always be happy to come back.”

the fate of Scarlet Witch

But during the interview, the one who appeared for the first time in the MCU in Captain America: The Winter Soldier also insisted on the fact that at the time of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel «didn't really know what to do anymore» with her. strong>Comments that echo those already made by the actress upon the release of Sam Raimi's film in 2022. At the time, she expressed her surprise (upon reading the script) at seeing the change her character underwent, curiously going from heroine to antagonist.

A treatment that did not go unnoticed by fans and was heavily criticized, due to its great popularity with the fanbase. Indeed, barely after receiving immense powers and being an Avenger in the making, she is catapulted into an unreasonable super villain, and ends up crushed by a mountain of rock. A spell sent by La Maison des Idées, visibly eager to finish with her character.

Since then, nothing. There is no doubt that this news brought by Elisabeth Olsen will give rise to their share of speculations among fans. The next two Avengers, Doomsday in 2026 (in which Robert Downey Jr. will return as Doctor Doom), and Secret Wars a year later, are an option. But why not much earlier, in Agatha All Along for example. Several clues left in the trailer for the series suggest a thunderous return of the Scarlet Witch.
