Mariusz Trynkiewicz is dead. Poles knew him as “Satan from Piotrków”

On Thursday, January 9, Mariusz Trynkiewicz, known as “Satan of Piotrków”, died at the age of 62.

The District Court in Gostynin sentenced a well-known criminal to five years and six months in prison for possession of child pornography. The man, who died on January 9, 2025, in a hospital ward, was a repeat offender.

His criminal activity began on July 4, 1988, when he committed the murder of a 13-year-old Wojtek. The boy was tricked into Trynkiewicz's apartment, where the man took advantage of him and then strangled him, hiding his body in the forest.

Terror wave in Piotrków

Within a few weeks, Trynkiewicz attacked more children. On July 29, 1988, his victims were 11-year-old Tomek and two 12-year-olds, Artur and Krzyś. After the brutal acts, the children's bodies were hidden and burned in the forest. Despite the tragedy, many residents of the area did not notice anything suspicious, which raises questions about the community's vigilance and the effectiveness of police actions.

After Mariusz Trynkiewicz, known for his brutal crimes, was sent to prison, his apartment in a block of flats became the subject of interest from the media and the local community. Shortly after his arrest, a new tenant moved into the apartment, who, as it turned out, also did not have a happy life.

The sad fate of the residents of the block

A resident of the block, who wanted to remain anonymous, told the Onet reporter about the dramas that were taking place in their surroundings. “The next tenant of the apartment after Trynkiewicz was not happy in life either, because he, in turn, 'abused' a lot,” she reported. Unfortunately, this story did not end happily. The man was found dead near the door to the stairwell, causing concern among neighbors.

These events remind us how difficult the fates of residents can be, who are still struggling with the consequences of the past. The echoes of the Trynkiewicz case still cast long shadows on the lives of people in this block.
