Man exposed for informing the enemy about the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of the Pokrovsky district was caught in subversive activities against Ukraine. He was reported on suspicion of high treason.

In November 2024, an employee of a coal enterprise began to assist the occupiers in conducting hostilities in the region. The man communicated on the Telegram messenger on military topics with a representative of the Russian Federal Security Service. In order to fulfill the tasks set by the recruiter, the so-called agent for two months provided him with data on the facilities where Ukrainian servicemen were stationed.

The citizen learned information about the location of the Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment and personnel in the Pokrovske direction. He noted the scouted locations in the «Google Maps» application, took screenshots and sent them to the Russian. In addition, he focused on the administrative buildings and civil infrastructure of the Dobropil community. For the «work» he was promised a monetary reward of 50,000 rubles, which in national currency is 21,000 UAH. However, the occupant never paid the agreed amount.

The suspect's illegal activities were stopped. At the request of the prosecutor's office, he was placed in custody as a preventive measure.

The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of 15 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
