Macron seeks to increase arms production in France

French President Emmanuel Macron visiting the construction site of the new Eurenco gunpowder factory in Bergerac defended this Thursday, April 11, his desire for the reindustrialization of France in the military sphere.

European Pravda writes about this, reports BFMTV.

Macron defended his policy to increase production in the defense sector on French soil.

“The world is changing, and we all must produce more to support Ukraine in the face of this aggression and defend ourselves,” – he told reporters present during his trip to the site of the new Eurenco gunpowder plant.

"This dynamic is being launched throughout Europe and throughout the world", – he added.

The President clarified that France has already tripled the production rate of Caesar self-propelled guns, which it supplies to Ukraine. And that in general it “sells these self-propelled guns all over the world,” which makes them “an extremely powerful export product.”

Regarding ammunition production, he assured that Eurenco has already doubled the production of charges since the start of the war in Ukraine. “We want to go even further,” – he said.

The new plant in Bergerac, which will be added to the existing production site in Sweden, should allow for "further increase" production.

Recall that in February, French President Emmanuel Macron warned that Moscow's actions in recent weeks indicate that Russia could attack NATO countries in the next few years.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said in January that the alliance must prepare for a Russian attack on a NATO country within 5-8 years.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces, Mikael Büden, and the Minister of Civil Defense, Karl-Oskar Bohlin, said that all citizens of the country must be prepared for war.
