Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has given permission to a number of paramilitary structures to shoot down drones violating the country's airspace.

The corresponding decree was recently published.

The document states that it is now permitted to use force, special means and weapons not only against aircraft models and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), but also other unmanned vehicles, such as aircraft, transport vehicles, underwater and surface drones, as well as ground-based vehicles controlled remotely or automatically.

According to the decree, the right to shoot down drones was granted not only to military personnel and law enforcement officers, but also to representatives of other paramilitary organizations, including the prosecutor's office, the Investigative Committee, customs authorities, the State Committee for Forensic Examinations and other units.

Earlier, in July, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed a case in which a Russian “shahed” entered Belarusian airspace from Ukrainian territory. The monitoring project “Belarusian Gayun” has also repeatedly reported the recording of such drones on Belarusian territory.
