The house from the movie “Home Alone” in Illinois underwent radical changes after Kevin McCallister fended off two clumsy burglars. And now you can become its owner.

Want to live in Kevin McCallister's house? Now you can! The famous Home Alone home is on the market for the first time in 12 years and will cost you a cool $5.25 million, ET reports.

Chicago-based Dawn McKenna Group of Coldwell Banker Realty has listed homes for sale in Winnetka, Illinois, just 37 minutes north of Chicago.

Although larger part of the house will look familiar – explain the realtors – you won't believe what the sellers have done to transform this famous house, almost doubling the livable area and adding a state-of-the-art sports court!

In a marketing video for the group of realtors, the Illinois house is “a piece of American history” and “perhaps one of the most famous houses in the world.”

After the camera takes the audience inside, one of the realtors stands at the bottom of the stairs. She wittily asks, “Do you know that?”, pointing to the famous staircase that Macaulay Culkin's character once used as a slide for his sled. It's also the staircase where McCallister fended off bumbling burglars Harry and Marv (played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) by hilariously swinging two gallons of paint at their unsuspecting heads.

One of the many updates to the home includes an open kitchen layout. The house is full of surprises, such as a state-of-the-art basketball court in the fully renovated basement.

Culkin became a global phenomenon after landing the role in the 1990 Christmas classic. Culkin's younger brother, “The Heir” star Kieran Culkin, also starred in the film as the bedwetting cousin McCallister.

Home Alone, directed by Chris Columbus, was an instant hit and remains one to this day. from the main holiday films. The film reportedly had a budget of $18 million and grossed $476 million worldwide. The film spawned a number of sequels, including Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

The film also featured two of the most iconic scenes in movie history: Culkin screaming in pain after being splashed with aftershave lotion (which was actually improvised) and Catherine O'Hara yelling “KEVIN!” before passing out.

O'Hara's famous scream was parodied in 2021 in a Chase Bank commercial starring, of course, Kevin Hart.
