Jenna Ortega: the star reveals the astonishing list of her 4 favorite films

The project to release the sequel to Beetlejuice, titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, had been in the pipeline for years. It's finally here, in theaters since September 11th. During a recent interview, Jenna Ortega, who stars in Tim Burton's film, answered questions from Letterbox about her favorite films. Among the 4 on her short-list, she revealed a cult French title.

Jenna Ortega, a true fan of French cinema

Since September 11, you can go and discover the sequel to Beetlejuice at the cinema with the cast of Michael Keaton who is back, as well as Catherine O'Hara and Jenna Ortega, the star of the Netflix series Wednesday at who has been alleged to have a relationship with Johnny Depp.

For several years, during the red carpets, the Letterbox application has been present to ask stars what their four favorite films are. On the occasion of the preview of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice aka Beetlejuice 2, Jenna Ortega did not escape this famous question.

Thus, the one who plays Astrid, the daughter of Lydia played by Winona Ryder, was questioned to know her Top 4 films that she loves the most. And it is clear that she particularly appreciates cinema made in France because she cited two French films.

And we can say that the actress always surprises us during her interviews. We learn that in her selection, she loves Stanley Kubrick's filmography because she claims that Barry Lindon is part of her selection and Paris Texas directed by Wim Wenders, which won the Palme d'Or in 1984, is a production that she also likes. But it's her other two choices that are surprising because they are French. She cites in particular The Passion of Joan of Arc, directed by the Danish Carl Theodor Dreyer in 1928 and highlights the “absolutely crazy” performance of its lead actress Maria Falconetti. Jenna Ortega does not hide her dream of one day playing this French historical character. Finally, her latest favorite film is none other than a film directed by Mathieu Kassovitz with Vincent Cassel who plays his first role: La Haine.

@letterboxd Four Favorites with @beetlejuicemovie's Jenna Ortega, Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara, and Justin Theroux.
