As reported by the „Goniec” portal, on Wednesday, February 12, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy provided information on the indexation rate for pensions and retirement benefits. Retirement benefit indexation

Retirement benefit indexation takes place once a year, always on March 1. Its purpose is to increase senior benefits so that the benefits paid to them do not lose purchasing power. On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy indicated how much retiree benefits will increase.

According to information from the Ministry of Pensions and Retirement, this year's indexation rate is 105.5 percent.

“From March 1, 2025, pensions and annuities will be indexed in accordance with applicable regulations. The indexation rate of benefits will be 105.5%, which means an increase in benefits for millions of seniors and eligible persons,” announced on the official website of the Council of Ministers. What does this mean for seniors??

How much will the minimum pension be from March 1, 2025? year?

A pension rate at this level means that the lowest benefits will increase by PLN 97.95. This means that the minimum pension will amount to PLN 1,878.91. Not all seniors will have reasons to be happy, because there have been no changes to the tax thresholds or the tax-free amount, which has remained at PLN 2,500 per month.

This means that in the case of benefits exceeding PLN 2,500 gross, tax will have to be paid on them. Below this amount, only the health insurance contribution is paid from the benefit.
