“Roskomnadzor is working with communications operators on the regulatory and legal aspects of operators' responsibility to strengthen security measures for their customers”, – noted in the department.

Difficulties due to blocking

As R-Vision information security consultant Aleksandr Chernenko explained, blocking spam calls from abroad default can create difficulties for businesses that work with organizations from the CIS countries, Asia and Africa.

“Problems are possible for organizations that have infrastructure outside of Russia. Therefore, it will be necessary to have qualified personnel to set up and maintain the blocking system, because the more settings it has, the more specialists are needed to manage and update it”, – Chernenko said.

Also, according to him, it is not clear how the blocking of Roskomnadzor will work with calls through messengers. In addition, there may be difficulties with registration in foreign services and applications, such as Telegram, where a call from a foreign number is required to confirm registration.
