iPhone users found a way to clear 7GB of memory by disabling one feature

The Internet found out how to quickly free up about 7 GB of internal memory on an iPhone. The life hack will be useful to owners of latest Apple smartphones that do not use trendy AI functions.

GizmoChina reported how after updating to iOS 18.3, users noticed that the Apple Intelligence service was activated on their smartphones. Using AI, it allows you to rewrite texts, generate images, create emojis, and do other similar things.

However, the neural network takes up about 7 GB on the smartphone. If you deactivate it, this memory will be freed up again. It is important to note that the function is supported only by devices with the latest Apple hardware, such as the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, as well as all iPhone 16 models.

To disable the AI assistant, you need to go to the iPhone or iPad settings, select the Apple Intelligence & section Siri and turn the switch opposite Apple Intelligence to the inactive position.

For those who do not want to completely disable Apple Intelligence, the company offers the ability to selectively disable individual functions. For example, you can disable message summaries in notifications and text writing tools without disabling the entire AI package.

Currently, Apple is quite raw and does not work in all regions. Also, iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max users complained about overheating of smartphones when using Apple Intelligence. At the same time, the AI functions do not cause problems for iPhone 16 owners.

So far, the AI functions are provided free of charge, but it is reported that from 2026 they will be made paid. Apple and Samsung plan to maintain a new subscription for the most advanced AI functions. In the future, it will have to be issued in order to fully use all the functions of the operating system.
