According to the latest data, the iPhone has lost its leadership in China. A new report from Canalys confirms that iPhone shipments in the country fell by 25% year-on-year in the last quarter of the year. The iPhone, which previously held the top spot in China, has now fallen to third place, behind Oppo and Honor with a 15% market share. In 2023, Apple’s share was 19%.

The decline is attributed to increased competition. However, the Financial Times believes that a key factor was Apple’s failure to implement Apple Intelligence features. The report says that the company is facing pressure from local premium brands, especially Huawei.

Apple is trying to reach agreements with Chinese companies to launch AI features, as this process in the country is complicated and requires working with local companies, but negotiations with ByteDance and Tencent have not been successful.
