Internet fraudster sold non-existent firewood

A 40-year-old local resident who sold non-existent firewood will be tried in the Lozova City District Court of the Kharkiv region. This was reported by the prosecutor's office.

According to the investigation, a resident of Lozova, who had previously been repeatedly convicted, including for crimes against property, in the spring of 2023 placed an advertisement on the Internet for the sale of firewood, although in reality he did not have such goods.

When buyers transferred payment to the defendant's bank card, he stopped contacting them. Thus, the fraudster defrauded 14 people for a total of almost 130 thousand hryvnias.

The man is accused of fraud (Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to 3 years in prison for the crime.
