Whee/Google Play
Tiktok's parent company, Bytedance, has begun testing the photo-sharing app Whee. In its technology, it is very similar to Instagram.
The founder of Android Police and APKMirror, Artem Rusakovsky, reported this on X (Twitter).
The application has features for sharing photos, chat for messaging with friends and a feed of new posts. Tiktok emphasizes that all of these features are for connecting with friends.
Whee is currently available on Android in more than ten countries, but not USA. TikTok and parent company ByteDance have yet to comment on the launch.
Take and share real photos that only your friends can see, allowing you to be yourself. Whee is the best place for close friends to share moments of life, says the description of Whee on Google Play.
This is not the first time that the Chinese company has been “inspired” by Instagram: in April, the sharing application appeared with TikTok Notes images. It is currently being tested in Australia and Canada.
Am I the first one to report this? Bytedance, the developer of Tiktok, is testing a new app called Whee. It's currently not available in the US but it is live in over a dozen countries.https://t.co/iNVQlVQ5C2https://t.co/n9rKnrHovE
