Inside Out 2 Makes History a Little More With This New Record

The exploits of Inside Out 2 seem to have no limits, since the latest animated film from the famous Pixar studios continues to break records, allowing it to enter even more into the history of contemporary cinema.

New Historical Record for Inside Out 2

Released on June 19, 2024 in our movie theaters, Inside Out 2 was without a doubt the unmissable event of this summer season. The sequel to the 2015 animated film quickly found a place in the global box office, quickly climbing the rankings to position itself at number one and thus dethroning Dune: Part II, which dominated the podium for much of the year.

And since its launch, Inside Out 2 has not stopped breaking records. It first broke the record for the biggest opening weekend for an animated film of all time, worldwide, and then became the highest-grossing film in Pixar studios' history, surpassing The Incredibles 2which had held this title since 2018. Finally, the feature film also reached a new milestone at the end of July by becoming the most lucrative animated film of all time, thus dethroning Frozen 2.

But the success of the latest Pixar is far from stopping there, being determined to continue on its momentum. Indeed, Inside Out 2 has just passed a new milestone by entering the very closed circle of the top 10 most profitable films of all time. With a global box office of $1.668 billion at the time of writing, it therefore occupies ninth place in the ranking, just ahead of The Lion King from 2019 and its $1.662 billion.

It remains to see if it can continue its rise, with the next target to reach being the $1.671 billion of Jurassic World (2015) which currently occupies eighth place.
