In Volyn, two Russians and a Ukrainian citizen were convicted of Internet fraud

On public indictment by prosecutors from the Lutsk District Prosecutor's Office, the court found two citizens of the Russian Federation and a resident of Zhytomyr guilty of committing fraud as part of an organized group.

As a reminder, a 43-year-old and a 32-year-old previously convicted men who were in the Volyn temporary residence center for foreigners and stateless persons, involving a 33-year-old accomplice at large, defrauded citizens who were selling household appliances through the website OLX.

 During August-November 2023, by agreeing to deliver the goods to the postal operator's office and forging payment checks, they seized the goods and handed them over to a pawnshop.

The court sentenced two foreigners, who have been in custody since November 2023, to actual imprisonment: the younger one – for a term of 5 years and 8 months, the older one – for a term of 5 years and 3 months. Both – with confiscation of property.

A woman was sentenced to 5 years in prison with a three-year probationary period.

The perpetrators were exposed during the operational support of the USR in the area of ​​the SSR of the National Police of Ukraine.
