In France, innovations in the medical field. They are planning to introduce fines of €5 for those who make an appointment with a doctor and then miss it.

This was recently announced by French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, reports Le Monde.< /p>

Penalties for missing medical consultations are one of several measures to improve the level of health care in the country. After all, the main trade union of French doctors said that patients miss 27 million appointments every year.

We cannot allow this, said French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.

He also added that this approach could free up 15 to 20 million records a year for other people.

According to him, the corresponding draft law will be presented to the parliament in the near future, and the government wants to be able to impose fines for missed appointments as early as January 1 next year. A fine will have to be paid by any person who does not show up for an appointment with a doctor or cancels an appointment less than a day in advance. Doctors will be able to deprive the patient of payment if they decide that the reason for the absence was sufficiently important.

At the press conference, Attal also announced that starting next year, the country will conduct an experiment: patients will be allowed to make appointments with some specialists independently, without a proper referral from a general practitioner, as currently required by the rules.

In response to the proposal, the main GP union MG France said that “it will not solve anything” because there is a shortage of specialists in the country , as well as general practitioners.
