In “19.30” TV Republika was commented on. Holecka's words about Owsiak were referred to

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) has been engaging millions of Poles in helping those in need for years, organizing annual finals that arouse emotions and often provoke discussions.

The approaching 33rd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity recalls previous controversies, including the statement by Danuta Holecka, who criticized Jerzy Owsiak's initiative on TVP Info.

Controversial TV Campaign Republika

Currently, on TV Republika, Holecka is promoted in the context of the campaign under the slogan “I don't give to Owsiak, I support Republika”. This initiative gained support from the clubs of “Gazeta Polska” and the station's supporters, which caused outrage among many Poles. The graphics promoting the campaign feature photos of Owsiak decorated with hearts with the TV Republika logo.

Criticism from the Opposition

Donald Tusk, the leader of the opposition, criticized the campaign, calling it a “PiS television campaign.” In his words, he pointed out that WOŚP collects funds for children with cancer, while competing media “collect for hatred.” Such statements show how strong the divisions in Polish society are, and how WOŚP remains in the spotlight not only in a charitable context, but also in a political one.

Danuta Holecka and her words about WOŚP

In the material of the program “19.30” broadcast on January 6, an archival recording from the time when Danuta Holecka was associated with TVP Info was recalled. In a conversation with Jerzy Owsiak, the founder of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, the journalist expressed her gratitude for the support her family received thanks to the foundation.

Personal experiences related to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity

„My son himself used a well-equipped incubator many years ago, yours. It was also with the heart of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity and for that I also thank you very much– said Holecka at that time. These words have gained a new context in the face of criticism that Owsiak's foundation has been receiving from right-wing media, including TV Republika.

Evolution of attitudes and forgotten words

Milena Bobrowska's material in “19.30” indicated the evolution of Holecka's attitude. The authors of the program emphasized that the journalist seems to forget about her past, when she openly expressed her appreciation for WOŚP. In the face of the current critical actions towards the foundation, it is worth recalling its former attitude and words of gratitude.
