Iga Świątek couldn't hold it in. At one point she turned to one of the players. Consternation reigned

Iga Świątek couldn't hold back. First, she thanked everyone for participating in the tournament, and then she turned to one of the players.

As the “Goniec” portal recalls, Polish tennis players took second place in the United Cup. During the medal ceremony, the players representing our country took the floor. At one point, the microphone went to Iga Świątek. At one point, the Raszynian turned to the player standing behind her. Consternation reigned.

Świątek and Hurkacz defeated

The Polish tennis players were just a step away from winning the United Cup. Just like last year, the players representing our country had to settle for second place. This time, our players had to admit the superiority of the Americans. Although the fight was fierce and lasted until the very end, it ultimately ended in a defeat for Świątek and Hurkacz.

There is a lot of talk in the media not only about what happened during the court matches between Świątek and Gauff and Hurkacz and Fritz, but also about the words that were said during the medal ceremony.

Świątek was clearly dejected as she left the court. Her thanks for playing were exceptionally brief, and tears welled up in the eyes of the Polish tennis player. Many Internet users pointed out to Świątek that with such an achievement she should be able to handle defeats better.

A moment of consternation at the awards ceremony medals

During the ceremony, Iga Świątek definitely controlled her emotions better. When receiving the medal, the Raszynian thanked for the opportunity to take part in the tournament and also congratulated the United Cup winners. At one point, Świątek turned to Alicja Rosolska, who was standing behind her.

The first sentence spoken by Iga Świątek caused a stir and momentary consternation, although after a moment everything became clear.

“Why are you laughing? She's been laughing at me for a week now – Świątek said into the microphone, allowing herself a dig at her teammate.
