You keep it in the basement? Get ready for a ticket

Residents of apartment buildings like to use basements, where they can hide unnecessary items. It's a good place to put preserves, bicycles and other seasonal equipment. Unfortunately, not everything should be in the basement. Some of the items placed there can lead to us getting a ticket.

What you shouldn't store in the basement? It is forbidden to store flammable materials there, such as gasoline canisters or pyrotechnics. Gas cylinders and solvents are also prohibited. In the event of a fire, they can pose a huge threat to life and health.

If we find prohibited items in our basement, we risk a fine of up to PLN 5,000. zł.

MSWiA announces random checks

After a dramatic accident that occurred a few months ago in one of the tenement houses in Poznań, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration announced random inspections.

“From the point of view of state bodies responsible for compliance with regulations in this area, we will remind about this and conduct random inspections in cooperation with local governments, with city guards” – said Czesław Mroczek, Deputy Minister of Interior and Administration, in an interview with PAP.

The deputy head of the ministry emphasizes that it is not allowed to store flammable materials in basements, especially when their ignition temperature is lower than 20 degrees Celsius, because they can explode and catch fire even as a result of a simple increase in temperature.
