If elected, Trump plans to blackmail Ukraine – CNN

Future presidential candidate USA Donald Trump allegedly wants to divide NATO countries into “two classes” depending on defense spending, and also hopes to force Russia and Ukraine to begin negotiations on a cessation of hostilities, pressing the argument for further American military assistance.

According to “European Truth”, this is stated in the CNN material.

According to the channel's sources, in such conversations, many European ambassadors learned that Trump wants to promote the idea of a “two-level NATO”: so that countries that spend less than 2% of GDP on defense, were not protected by Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty.

Regarding Trump's plans to “quickly stop the war” in Ukraine, some foreign diplomats allegedly heard that he wants to bring Moscow and Kyiv to the negotiating table and encourage them to reach an agreement to end hostilities.

If he wins the presidential election, Trump will likely try to reach communication with Kremlin head Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky immediately after re-election, or the day after the inauguration, to begin such work, said one of the anonymous interlocutors familiar with the ideas of the ex-president.

An instrument of pressure can become American military aid for Ukraine.

“If Ukraine wants a constant flow of aid, they will have to sit down at the negotiating table. And if Russia doesn't want us to provide a lot of new support for Ukraine, then it, too, will have to sit down and negotiate… This does not mean concessions to Ukraine, or that we will give Putin everything he wants,” – the interlocutor noted.

It is not known how close this anonymous interlocutor is to the Trump team.

The future Republican presidential candidate often boasted that he could negotiate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours if elected. But he has repeatedly refused to publicly clarify how he could do this.

The Washington Post, citing sources, reported that Trump allegedly seeks to push Ukraine to make concessions to the Russian Federation and transfer Ukrainian territories under its control – in particular, Crimea and Donbass.

Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller called these details fake.
