The new iPhone 16, 16 Plus and 16 Pro models cost in Ukraine significantly more than in the US, and the price difference can reach more than 40%. This is due to taxes and additional import costs.
For example, the basic iPhone 16 model (128 GB) in Ukraine will cost UAH 15,177 more expensive than in the USA. iPhone prices traditionally differ in different countries, and Ukraine – not an exception.
For example, on Apple's official website in the USA, the iPhone 16 costs $799 (about UAH 32,972 at the exchange rate), the iPhone 16 Plus – $899 (approximately UAH 37,099), and the iPhone 16 Pro starts at $1,099 (approximately UAH 45,353). However, this is the price without taking into account taxes, which depend on the state.
In Ukraine, unlike in the USA, prices for new models are much higher due to customs duties, taxes and logistics costs.

- iPhone 16 (128 GB) – UAH 47,999 (approximately $1,165);
- iPhone 16 Plus (128 GB) – UAH 52,499 (approximately $1,272);
- iPhone 16 ProMax (512 GB) – UAH 80,999 (approximately $1,966).
If you compare the prices in the USA and Ukraine, the difference becomes obvious. For example, the iPhone 16 in Ukraine will cost UAH 15,177 more, which is more than 47% of the price in the USA. The 16 Plus model will cost UAH 15,400 more (42%), and the iPhone 16 Pro – it is UAH 14,766 more expensive (37%).
The main reasons for such price differences are additional import duties and taxes paid by Ukrainian consumers when purchasing equipment. Added to this are logistics costs, which are significantly higher for Ukraine compared to domestic US markets. In addition, official distributors add their markups, which also affects the final price for buyers.
These significant price differences often force Ukrainians to look for ways to order gadgets from abroad or use other options to save on purchase of smartphones.
