HMD Skyline returns the iconic design of the Nokia Lumia 920

HMD Global, the company now responsible for Nokia smartphones, seems to be really into nostalgia. Just last month, the company brought back the classic Nokia 3210 smartphone from the 90s with modern features. And it seems they've nailed it again with another phone. We previously heard that HMD is preparing something called Skyline. Now, the first renders for the HMD Skyline have surfaced on X, courtesy of @smashx_60.

The renders show a phone reminiscent of the Fabula design language first introduced in the Nokia N9. But thanks to the bright yellow color scheme, I can't help but be reminded of the iconic Nokia Lumia 920.

While the design may be just a memory, the specs seem firmly rooted in the present. According to a previous report, the Skyline will feature a state-of-the-art FHD+ OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, a powerful mid-range chipset.

On the back, the Skyline will flaunt a triple-camera system that includes a 108MP main sensor, an ultra-wide lens and a sensor’ macro photography or depth sensor. A 32 MP front camera will take selfies.

The phone will have a powerful 4900 mAh battery with support for 33 W fast charging. It's also said to be IP67 dust and water resistant.

Modern conveniences like an under-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers are also reportedly on the table. The software side is expected to be covered by Android 14, the latest iteration of Google's mobile operating system.

The HMD Skyline is expected to cost €520 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, and , it will reportedly be unveiled sometime in July.
