On December 13-15, the Brave1 defense technology cluster held the Happy New Fear hackathon, designed to find the best technological solutions for destroying enemy rear areas, as well as «smart» mining of the enemy's likely approach paths.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports this.
The hackathon was attended by 200+ innovators, as well as representatives of state departments, the Security and Defense Forces, in particular the Armed Forces of Ukraine, manufacturing companies and other participants in the defense innovation ecosystem.
Today, 3,200+ developments from 1,400+ manufacturers are registered on the Brave1 platform. These include, in particular, 800+ UAVs, 280+ ground robotic complexes, 240+ electronic warfare devices, 220+ ammunition for drones, as well as 200+ solutions using artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. More than 230 developments have been codified according to NATO standards. Panel discussions were held with the participation of representatives of the Security and Defense Forces, responsible for strategic intelligence and defeat, and manufacturers of solutions for such operations. Thus, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine told what key technological challenges are currently facing the military, which conducts reconnaissance and defeat operations in the enemy's deep rear. They expressed their willingness to work together to develop answers to these challenges so that operations become even more efficient. The search for solutions took place in the non-standard format of the Idea Generation Session, where the hackathon participants worked in “rooms” created according to the directions of the hackathon, independently joined teams and together generated creative ideas and developed innovative solutions. During the creation of solutions, the teams were assisted by professional mentors, including military personnel and experts in the field of defense technology.
