The Israeli military reported on Sunday, May 26, that it had repelled a Hamas attack on Tel Aviv.
According to They said eight shells were fired at the city from the Rafah area in southern Gaza, where Israel continues to wage military operations.
Hamas said on Sunday it fired rockets at Tel Aviv from the Gaza Strip for the first time in four months. The Israeli military said several shells were intercepted. Israeli emergency services said they had not received reports of casualties, Reuters reported.
Rafah is located about 100 km (60 miles) south of Tel Aviv.
Israel says that he wants to destroy Hamas militants holed up in Rafah and rescue hostages held in the area.

On Sunday, Israel prepared to allow about 200 aid trucks into the Gaza Strip through Kerem Shalom on the southeastern edge of the Palestinian enclave, bypassing the main Rafah crossing, which has been blocked for weeks.
This comes after President Joe Biden and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi agreed on Friday to temporarily send aid through this checkpoint.
