GTA 6 game will not be released this year – predictions of a famous insider from Bloomberg for 2025

The coming year promises many big releases and an incredible gaming experience. But all this is according to official announcements, but what if we turn to a not so official, but still trusted source?

The famous Bloomberg insider and journalist Jason Schreier made his predictions for 2025. Among the most interesting: GTA 6 we won't see this year, but Half-Life 3 may well be.

  • The industry will begin to revive
Schreier believes that the era of the decline of the gaming industry, which began during the pandemic, will end this year. Of course, this does not mean that all companies will immediately get rich and return to the indicators by 2020, but there will be some improvements.
  • No More Exclusives
Last year's Final Fantasy VII Rebirth may be one of Sony's last third-party exclusives. The exclusivity of projects no longer makes sense: games are expensive to make, and only the console audience cannot cover all costs. Sony has already ported almost all of its exclusives to PC, and Microsoft will release its Indiana Jones and The Great Circle on Playstation 5.
  • Ubisoft  are waiting for major changes
The release of Assassin's Creed Shadows will be a fateful event for Ubisoft. If the game fails, the company faces a sale, or a takeover by China's Tencent or Saudi Arabia's Savvy Games Group.
  • GTA 6 won't be released in 2025
Publishers can talk a lot about Grand Theft Auto 6 definitely being released this year, but Schreier sees it as too huge and ambitious a project, and Rockstar has vowed not to force its employees to grind in the final stages of development. All this gives reason to believe that the expected sixth part will be released in 2026.
  • But Silksong will be released
The expected sequel to the hardcore indie metroidvania Hollow Knight: Silksong, which was announced back in 2019, may be released this year and sell millions of copies.
  • Generative AI will fail
ChatGPT and other neural networks have proven themselves as excellent assistants in organizing work, but the creative side of AI still needs serious refinement. All experiments with creating AI games will fail, Schreier believes. We have already seen that people do not have a very good attitude towards such works, for example, with the Coca-Cola commercial or the poster for the series “Arkane”.
  • Half-Life will return
Over the past year, a lot of rumors and datamining findings regarding Half-Life 3 have appeared on the Internet. A few days ago, what is believed to be the official teaser for the triquel appeared. Jason Schreier believes that 20 years after the second part, Valve will finally announce Half-Life 3.
