GPS failures are being recorded again in Kyiv: users are being “transported” to Kursk

In Kyiv, during the air alarms, failures in the work of GPS navigation are recorded again. The reason is the replacement of coordinates of satellite signals.

This is what Kyiv residents are writing about on social networks, Channel 24 reports. This is due to the activity of electronic warfare systems that change the coordinates of satellite signals, which can also affect the time settings on phones.

GPS shows Kursk in Kyiv

GPS navigation failures in Kyiv are not uncommon during air attacks. This is due to the replacement of satellite signal coordinates. Such measures are often used to protect strategic objects and complicate the work of enemy drones that navigate using GPS.

Due to interference with the navigation signal on phones and gadgets, not only the location but also the time can change. Users also report that the clocks on their devices display incorrect data.

What to do in case of a failure

To avoid confusion, it is worth turning off the automatic time update mode on your device. To do this:

  • Go to your phone's settings.
  • Turn off automatic time synchronization with the network.
  • Set the time manually according to the current Kyiv time.

These actions will help minimize the inconvenience associated with replacing GPS coordinates.

Fixing the wrong location, especially in conditions of air alert, can create inconvenience for users. However, changing the coordinates is a necessary step to ensure security during enemy attacks.

By the way. Previously, similar navigation failures were observed in other regions of Ukraine during air alerts.
