My mother raised me and put me on my feet, and my father contributed to my sudden maturation by leaving the family. My father's affair began when I was in the seventh grade. This age is already difficult, and then it started happening in the family. I definitely sided with my mother, and I hated my father in an instant.

Over the years, of course, I calmed down a bit, but the pain and resentment remained for life. My father later married his young chosen one – she was twelve years younger than him – and left for his small homeland. My mother and I stayed in Warsaw in the same apartment that my father had tried to get during the divorce.

But the property belonged to my mother's parents, so he didn't succeed. I finished college and went to work in a large enterprise, which has now become part of a state corporation. There I met my future husband, and then gave birth to a son. But this desire to stand on my own two feet and rely only on myself gave me an incredible boost to develop my career.

Now I run the customer service department for my parent company, and my husband works for another company. My mother has lived in a house in the country for a long time, and our son will one day move into my mother's small apartment as soon as he starts college. But it won't be soon, he's only in the fifth grade! We recently came to the country for the weekend, and my mother met us with a troubled face

– Mom, how are you feeling? Everything's okay? – I was worried.

– Paulina, we have to talk… – my mother replied, looking at my husband.

– Yes, of course, women's secrets have begun – my husband shuddered and entered the house whistling.

– What's wrong? – I asked, already worried.

– Paulina, it's like this… Your father he came home and called me, my mother said quietly,

– No, I don't feel like communicating – I said, barely holding myself back.

– I know it's hard for you to forgive your father! But at least meet your sister. Ola is a very good girl, this year she got into college in Warsaw, I'm very happy! I thought maybe you could meet her and talk. You, as the big sister, can take her under your wing, so to speak. Otherwise, who's going to look after her in the big city? – my father continued. I was almost speechless with such impudence!

– No! And don't call me again. Even from other numbers – I'll hang up anyway! – I cut him off. I always knew my father wasn't a very good man. He hadn't even mentioned me in twenty years, and now he wants me to look after his daughter from another marriage. And who took care of me at her age? Where was he? No, there can be no talk of reconciliation.
